Attention friends, fans, and patrons of the Forestburgh Playhouse.

For 74 years, the Forestburgh Playhouse has been a source of entertainment and education in the theater arts. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 epidemic has interrupted our usual proceedings, requiring us to cancel performances, educational summer camps, and other events that serve as avenues of income for our organization. In these unprecedented times, we face some serious financial burdens.

In an attempt to combat the financial strain, we are launching our 75 and Thrive Fundraiser. Our goal is to help keep Forestburgh Playhouse alive and vibrant so that we can celebrate our 75th anniversary next year and keep on thriving for many more years to come.

Help Preserve The Miracle of the Forest

The magical performances Forestburgh Playhouse presents have rightfully earned our organization the nickname “Miracle of the Forest.” With award winning Broadway performers, amazing set designs, and raw passion, every performance is one you’ll never forget. Our shows awaken the mind as well as the soul, making you feel a range of emotions in a single evening.

Whether you’ve ever been a part of the magic, either as a performer or as a member of the audience, you understand the value of what could be lost without the necessary financial help.

The Playhouse Employs Professional Performers

The financial issues of the Playhouse also affects our employed performers. Under an agreement with the Actors’ Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers, the Playhouse employs professional actors, often with Broadway or other major credits, as well as a company of non-union professionals who earn credit toward their own eventual membership in the Actors’ Equity Association. Without the Forestburgh Playhouse, these performers would have to find employment opportunities elsewhere. Losing this opportunity would be a tremendous hardship on these professionals, as well as a loss for the audiences who would miss out on their talents.

How You Can Help

As we attempt to move ahead and continue to provide entertainment and education in theater, we are launching the 75 and Thrive Fundraiser. You can help in two ways: by making a donation and by spreading the word through social media, email, and any other means. Encourage friends, family, and colleagues to donate $75 (or an amount of their choosing) to the Forestburgh Playhouse. If you become a partner, we’ll send you our 75 and Thrive kit with everything you need to promote our fundraiser.

If you are interested in making a one time donation, simply make your donation here. If you prefer to send a check, please make the check out to Forestburgh Playhouse and send it to 39 Forestburgh Road, Forestburgh, NY 12777.

Together we help ensure the magic of the Forestburgh Playhouse lives on for years to come. During hard times, it seems the arts are the first thing to be considered expendable, but performers and patrons of the arts understand the true value. Please help us ensure this amazing treasure is not lost.
